Contents insurance covers items that are normally portable when you move home.  This includes items such as furniture, kitchen appliances, computers, home entertainment equipment and personal items.

All our policies replace lost or damaged items on a new for old basis (except clothing and household linen).

What methods of payment are available?

You can choose to pay by a number of secure methods.

  1. All major credit or debit cards for single payments
  2. Single payment Direct Debit using your bank details
  3. Pay monthly by paying a deposit on a credit or debit card followed by monthly payments on direct debit. Interest charges may apply.

What happens if I change my mind and want to cancel the policy?

What happens if I change my mind and want to cancel the policy? No problem.  Just call us on 0844 225 4022 or 01202 937412 during office hours. Monday to Friday 9.00 to 18.30 and Saturdays 9.00 to 12.30.

If you want to cancel before the policy goes live then you receive a full refund.  If you cancel within 14 days of going live you only pay for the period of cover used.  If you cancel after 14 days then you will qualify for a refund of premium in most cases but an administration charge will apply.

Who monitors Highworth Insurance?

Highworth Insurance is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).  It is firm number 578639 and can be found on the register at the FCA’s website www.fca.org.uk/

Highworth Insurance is also covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

I haven’t received my documents yet, why?

We normally only send documents by email.  If you haven’t received them within 24 hours of completing your purchase then please call us during office hours to ensure we have your correct details. What homes with businesses run from the property are available to be covered?

We cover most businesses provided there is no use of hazardous materials, naked flames or excessive visitor numbers to the property. Typical businesses that are covered include:

  • Bed and Breakfasts with up to 3 letting bedrooms
  • Childminders
  • Accountants
  • Therapists
  • Reflexology practitioners
  • Yoga teachers

Is my office equipment covered?

Yes, up to £3,000 of office equipment cover is included as standard

How does the building and contents cover compare to a standard home insurance policy?

The policy compares very favourably with standard home insurance policies. Benefits include:

  • Temporary accommodation if you need to leave your home as a result of an insured event
  • Contents cover for items temporarily removed from your home
